INTRODUCTION:-

It is a disorder which is characterized by high blood pressure; that includes systolic blood pressure (the "top" number, which represents the pressure generated when the heart beats) remaining higher than 140, or diastolic blood pressure (the "bottom" number, which represents the pressure in the vessels when the heart is at rest) remaining over 90 but these values may increases with increasing age because of increasing requirement of blood by the brain and other vital organs.

CAUSES:-
Blood pressure is determined by the amount of blood pumped by the heart, and the size and condition of the arteries. Narrowing of the arterial lumen may cause an increase in pressure. Other factors including volume of water in the body; salt content of the body; condition of the kidneys, blood vessels; and levels of various hormones in the body.

SYMPTOMS:- 
1) Tiredness 
2) Confusion, vision changes 
3) Nausea, vomiting                                                                                                         

4) Anxiety, excessive perspiration 
5) Pale skin or redness of the face 
6) Muscle tremors, palpitation 
7) Angina-like pain: crushing substernal chest pain 
8) Spleenomegaly                                                                                                              

9) Headache, nosebleed 
10) Heartbeat sensations 
11) Ear noise/buzzing 

WHEN TO SUSPECT:- 
Hypertension may be suspected when the blood pressure is high. It is confirmed through blood pressure measurements that are repeated over time. Blood pressure consistently elevated over 140 systolic or 90 diastolic, is considered as hypertension. 


HOMOEOPATHIC APPROACH:- 
Homoeopathy is based on the principles which are rock solid. The treatment here is directed towards the rectification of the cause and not towards the effect. Homoeopathic science strictly believes that even inflammatory disorders, growths, even destruction in tissues occur with the permission of the individual genetic code. Here the patient is considered as a whole and cause of the disease, ie, root is found and is treated with Homoeopathic constitutional medicine. The Homoeopathic medicine stimulates the patient's inner system as a whole, which further acts on the diseased organ, to reverse the pathology and the system.

Any symptom in the body does not occur without any meaning. It is not that blood pressure starts increasing suddenly and at all times, during the condition of stress ( any tension, anger, fright etc) our body and brain needs more amount of blood to help the body to survive during stress, therefore it demands the heart to pump blood with increased force which we call blood pressure in common term. 
Gradually and gradually this increased pressure of blood becomes the need of body so that it can work in harmony with the surrounding. After anti- hypertensive this pressure is forced to decrease. Body as a response to this further increases pressure (heart starts pumping more rapidly) to fulfill its need. More strong anti-hypertensive is given to decrease pressure which goes on and on and eventually body kneels down under the action of anti-hypertensive. When it becomes habitual to a particular dose the doses increase or the salt is change to be given in more strong salt combination.
As the age increases the arteries becomes hard and supplies less blood. Blood  pressure increases to provide adequate blood and anti-hypertensive decrease this raised B.P  forcefully.
This conflict between body and anti-hypertensive leads to weakening of the heart, damage to kidneys from diuretics which further leads to  kidney failure, damage to brain may occur.The body eventually has to take anti-hypertensive for life time. THIS IS NOT CURE.
Homoeopathy emphasises on the cause behind increased blood pressure. With homoeopathy, we don’t need to take medicine lifelong. With the right medicine, the body is made to overcome the condition of stress with the normal pressure of blood so that the patient can get rid of his anti-hypertensive within the variable time period and need not carry medicine for his raised blood pressure where he goes.
